January and February have been super busy for the Active Schools Committee! We have been doing lots of fun activities to keep everyone fit and healthy. All pupils in the school are taking part in the Spring Steps Challenges Cork Sports Partnership initiative. We have been walking and staying active both on the school grounds and around Mallow town.

We also took part in an interactive challenge along our school’s Active Walkway. Pupils paired up with other classes and worked together to solve fun riddles while walking. It was very exciting and made exercise feel like a game!

Inside the classrooms, we have been doing Croke Park Movement Breaks. These short breaks help us stretch, dance, and move so we don’t sit for too long.

Well done to First Class who won the Active Schools slogan competition! They have won a trip to the local basketball court in March. Remember our active slogan is:

“Kick, skip, jump, move, find your active groove!”

It has been great to see everyone getting involved in all the events and trying their best to stay active. The Active Schools Committee is proud that all pupils are joining in and having fun while keeping fit.
