We are so lucky in our school because we have a My Canine Companion Therapy dog called Frank. Frank is a Golden Doodle. That means he is half Golden Retriever and half Doodle. Frank helps us when we feel worried, sad or just need a little break. He visits our classrooms, listens to us read, and sometimes just sits beside us so we can give him a gentle rub or hug. He always makes us smile.
Frank is a very special dog from My Canine Companion, which means he has had lots of training to help children in schools like ours. We think he does an amazing job every single day!
We have also started a brand-new Frank Committee. The children and teachers in the committee help to tell everyone about the important work Frank does and how he helps us in school.
One of the best days this year was when we had a whole-school celebration for Frank’s 4th birthday. We sang to him, made cards, and made sure he felt extra special. Frank isn’t just a therapy dog – he’s part of our school family
