Our Student Council was formed in September which was made up of old and new members, all of whom expressed a passion in improving the school lives of others. Our first mission was helping to encourage participation in our Monster Quiz, held on the Thursday before the Halloween break for pupils from 3^rd-6^thclasses around the Mallow area. We raised nearly 2,000 euro for our school and great fun was had by everyone. There were prizes for the best costumes and there were some interesting costumes, including a portaloo!

In November, we chose to support the charity ‘Street Angels’ which is an organization that supports homeless people around Cork city and county. We felt that this was an important charity because all care packages donated are given directly to the people that need them the most, especially around Christmas time.

We are currently working to create a school newsletter so that we can share the news of our school with everyone. We will also be running a Book Fair in April which is a great initiative because it encourages people to read but it also helps us to earn books so that we can improve our school libraries
